“…emotionally, women feel less confident insisting that their vision is worthy.” ?

This is something that director, Jill Soloway, said in the interview posted earlier under MUST READ!!

It’s something I very much want to consider.

It might be spot on.

Is it?

  • Hopefully this is not the case for your generation of women, or for my daughters’ generation. For mine, however, it was often a given, and was inculcated in my psyche very early by an artistic father, and later specifically told to me by the guy who was my first serious relationship. He was a painter, a potter, and a skunk.

  • Unfortunately, the quote comes from a young woman in the film industry. She’s thought a good deal about her lot. I guess one take-away for the women still learning: avoid painters, potters and skunks!:)

  • Caroline says:

Sadly I adopted a male (human type) skunk earlier in my life and have been my own artist and painter, but he-the human skinuk– left after about four years. he took our pet skunk ( it was an albino and adored him ..skunks of a feather…?) At least he had not dealings with pots…
