STEPHEN KING, the opera!!!???

I hear from my Opera contact that Stephen King’s book, DOLORES CLAIBORNE, screenplay by Tony Gilroy (1995), is to premiere as opera in San Francisco this September. Go figure. IMDb log line: “A big-city reporter travels to the small town where her mother has been arrested for the murder of an elderly woman that she works for as a maid.”
Wow. Blood and tension and disaster. Um. I wonder what the qualifiers are for opera worthiness in a book turned film. What are those maestri thinking?
